German Sauerkraut

Ingredients

Sauerkraut

  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 Small Apple, quartered
  • 100 g speck or bacon, diced
  • 20 g Butter
  • 1 jar Sauerkraut
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds, whole
  • 100 g water
  • 1 tbsp veggie stock concentrate
  • 400 g chicken stock
  • 600 g potatoes, peeled and cubed

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place apple and onion in mixing jug speed 2/3 seconds

     

    2. Add bacon and butter to mixing jug and cook varoma/speed2/3minsCounter-clockwise operation

     

    3. Add the sauerkraut, water, caraway seeds, veggie stock, and bay leaf and cook 100C/speed 2/5 mins Counter-clockwise operation

     

    4. Add the chicken stock to the mixing jug then put the potato cubes in the top varoma tray and place on jug. Cook varoma/speed 2/30mins Counter-clockwise operation

     

    Serve with fried German sausages (Bratwurst) or Wieners or smoked pork chops.

Tip

If sauce is too runny, mash a few of the potatoes to thicken.
