For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Insert Butterfly whisk in bowl.
- Add 1000grams potatos
- Add 2 teaspoons fine salt
- Add 400 grams Milk
- Cook for 20 minutes, 100 degrees, Speed 1.5, Tilt measuring cup lid to allow steam to escape
- Mash, 1 minute, speed 4
- Serve your yummy mash!

Tip
For super creamy mash, use 250gms milk and 150gms thickened cream. Or for cheesy mash, add 100gms of grated cheese in your mash step.
