Thermie "baked" beans

  • 1 can tomatoes in juice
  • 1 onion brown
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp vege stock
  • 1/4 tsp cloves ground

Recipe's preparation

    Thermie "baked" beans
  1. chop onion, garlic and carrot, speed 5 for 2 seconds

  2. Add tomatoes and juice from can, stock and ground cloves, cook 100 degrees, 15 minutes, speed 3

  3. Puree 30 seconds speed 9

  4. add drained cannellini beans, cook 5 minutes 100 degrees, reverse spoon speed

    But I could NOT resist a bit of fiddle, added a stick of Celery (for the "greens") and substitute Worchestier Sauce ( oh you know,   acoulple of shakes of the bottle! - ? 1Tabsp) for cloves.

    On toast and melted cheese! great friday night dinner

  • Very thick, nice flavour but

    Very thick, nice flavour but the kids weren't keen, I think because it was so much thicker than tinned beans and not a lot of beans to sauce. Next time I would add water and halve tomato and carrot. I also sautéed the onion and garlic.

    I've just had this for breakfast. I think the onion could have been sauted and it needed another tin of beans.
