Made these again, because the filling the boys love. But the oil that leaks doesn’t work with the pastry. They never crisp. And when I drain the oil to let the pastry cook, they stick to the pan.

The filling of this is yummy. However, mine were floating in oil, so didnt crisp up and overall it came out a huge disaster.

These are very tasty. I only used 250g of cheese and had only 100g of bacon so added a chorizo sausage. Perhaps this was what caused extra oiliness, so will add some breadcrumbs or oats to soak it up next time.

  • Big hit! Taste so good, like

    Submitted by JessMettraux on 4. May 2014 - 16:27.

Big hit! Taste so good, like real meat not processeD, and the bacon is a nice touch. Made them to take for lunches this week and they didn't last the day! Found them to be a bit oily, but I think i will try a bit less cheese next time. Will definitely do a few batches at a time to freeze.
