I am not really a fan of soup but I tried this when I was sick. I used 250grams of chicken instead and I also added an extra egg, half an onion and half a teaspoon of ginger. It was quite nice.

Definately needed more chicken and it didn’t shred like in other recipes so I had to do this after the fact.

We love this! So simple and so tasty. I made some variations. 400 grams of chicken (cooked an extra 1.30mins on this step) - 3cms of ginger and half an onion to the first step (cooked for 30 seconds longer) - instead of adding boiling water and the chicken stock I just used liquid chicken stock and filled it to just under the full line (about 900mls of chicken stock). It was so good!

This was easy, swift and yummy. Admittedly I changed it up a wee bit. I omitted the garlic but added 1/2 an onion (brown) which I cooked at Varoma temp for 5 mins after it was chopped. I also doubled the chicken so added 30 secs to the original cook time. I then deleted 100mls of the water from the recipe for a thicker outcome. Really enjoyed this with a garnish of flat leaf parsley.

This soup was beautiful !!
This soup was beautiful !! The whole family loved it . I did as others suggested and doubled the recipe. I also put 1 onion halfed , a handful of black peppercorns and 1 tbsp of crushed ginger into the steaming basket and let those flavours infuse whilst The soup was cooking. I whisked up 2 egg whites only , with a little water and added them at the end rather than a the whole egg . Another tip if you need to make a big batch is don't add your chicken whilst the soup is cooking, this leaves more room in the jug which I had filled to the 2 lt mark . i had steamed and shredded a heap of chicken before starting the soup , I then just poured the soup into a large storage container covering all the chicken , made a huge hearty batch . Tasted better than our local chinese take away
