If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Place onions and garlic in bowl, chop for 2 sec, add 30g oil and sauté at speed 1 for 3min.
Place the vegetables into the thermomix bowl. Add the stock cubes or stock and water to the bowl.
toss the chicken in spices
add the chicken to the Varoma
put the lid on the thermomix and the Varoma on top and turn the temperature to VAROMA and the time to 30min on speed 1
Take out the chicken from the Varoma and shred or dice as desired and place in 4-6 bowls
Turn the speed to 3 then 5 then 7 to process the vegetables. Check for seasoning and add as desired.
Pour soup into bowls and serve
