Donna's Sausage Rolls

  • 5 sheets Puff pastry
  • 1.5 slice fresh bread
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1000 grams Sausage Mince
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, Dried or Fresh
  • 2 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt & Pepper
  • 1 Egg ( Beaten )

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Thaw Sheets of Pastry and slice in 12cm halves

    Pre Heat Oven to 200degrees
  2. add bread to bowl and chopClosed lid Speed 7 -10 Seconds into fine breadcrumbs and set aside
  3. Add 2 Cloves Garlic, 1 Onion and 1 carrot to bowl and

    chop Closed lidSpeed 5 - 10-15 seconds until finely chopped ( blend down more if you dont want the carrot to be seen )

    Add Reserved Breadcrumbs


    Add 500grams of the sausage mince and combine on reverse

    Closed lidCounter-clockwise operationSpeed 4 - 15seconds

    Add last of 500grams mince and repeat on reverse may need to use spatula to mix

    ( if doesnt combine tip out into a bowl and use hands to mix )
  4. Place a roll of sausage mixture on the centre of each pastry half and brush along one edge of pastry with the beaten egg

    Fold unbrushed side over and press sides together and press down using a fork to seal

    Cut into desired bite size pieces ( i cut into 6 )

    Arange on baking trays lined with gladbake

    Brush lightly with remainder or beaten egg and bake for 20mins untill golden brown.
