Aussie Choc Chip Biscuits

Ingredients

30 piece(s)

Choc Chip Biscuit Dough

  • 125 g salted butter, cubed
  • 160 g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract/paste
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 270 g self-raising flour
  • 250 g Dark or milk choc chips

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Set oven to 160C (fan-forced) or 175C for gas or electric. Have a Thermomat or prepared baking trays ready

    2. Insert the butterfly. Add softened butter and sugar into the TM bowl. With MC in place, mix for 20 sec / speed 3-4

    3. Scrape down bowl. Add egg, vanilla and salt and mix for 15 sec / speed 3-4

    4. Scrape down bowl. Weigh 100 g of the flour into the bowl and mix for 10 sec / speed 4

    5. Remove butterfly, add the remaining 170 g of flour and mix for 30 sec Dough mode

    6. Add choc chips and mix 15 sec /  Counter-clockwise operation  / speed 4

    7. Place teaspoons of mixture, rolled into balls, onto the Thermomat or trays. Leave room for some spreading and flatten with the back of a fork

    8. Bake for 12-15 mins or until just starting to brown. Yum! Makes 30+

    These are going to be a regular here I think. Very tasty. I followed other people's recommendations and only used 100g sugar and only added 200g of choc chips as that is what I had and that was still plenty.

    Thank you, thank you! I've been looking for a choc chip recipe like this for ages!! Not a fan of the chewy cookie recipes, but this one has the perfect amount of crunch :D I love dark choc chips in mine.

    I reduced the sugar to 100grams after reading the comments, and I didn't have choc chips, so substituted mini m&m's - absolutely delicious!! Kids gave them two thumbs up. Thanks for sharing!

    best Choc chip recipe!!!! So crunchy on outside and soft in middle!!! Perfect. Will be making these often.

    I think I might add White Choc chips and macadamias to my next batch.

    We loved these. Simple to make & delicious. They weren't sticky to make either so 4yr old could do it. I had to soften butter for 2mins 37deg & didn't insert butterfly (as I didn't feel like washing it).

    I set my oven to fan forced and took them out at 12 minutes because I could smell them. Unfortunately they were over done. I wont be using fan forced next time. They still tasted ok, just a bit crispy.
