Just made this banana bread for the first time and turned out fine. I used gf flour and didn’t have any golden syrup so subbed like for like with maple syrup. I only had 2 over ripe banana’s. As gf flour can be a little drying, I reduced quantity by 10g. I was surprised by the simple ingredients and knew by quantities it was only going to be a small bread, so used a small bar tin. You could easily double the recipe for a larger tin. Bread turned out perfect 👌. Light and moist and had a nice rise. Tasted lovely, light and clean.

I was taken back by the negative comments and felt they are way too harsh. It is a bread recipe not a cake recipe and never claimed to be a cafe style banana bread. If you are after an everyday basic light banana bread to enjoy, give this one a go as it won’t disappoint. It will become a staple in our house. 🙂

I’ve made this recipe half a dozen times and it always turns out perfectly. It’s tasty, cooked all the way through and is my go to recipe for banana bread. Really delicious! It has a lot of negatives comments (which I didn’t read prior to making the first time) but I’ve never had a problem with it. It also doesn’t have that buttery taste so many banana breads have which is a plus for me .

Have just finished making two batches of this, one with walnuts for the adults and one without and both turned out amazing. Such a simple recipe for a great end product. Thanks for sharing

This is definitely the worst recipe I have ever tried. It didn't rise and looked like a brick. It did look cooked on the outside but on slicing it the inside was completely doughy. I tasted it and it was shocking.
I honestly think this is a joke recipe someone has put on here just to mess with people.
I, like a lot of people, did not read the comments first but I definitely won't make that mistake again. Annoyed it was a waste of ingredients.

I wish I read the comments before trying this one. It was awful and rubbery also very dense and didn't rise

I made this then read the comments and thought oh no. I did it with 3 large bananas - slightly extra flour by accident and reduced the amount of sugar. I cooked at 180 for 45 mins and to be honest it doesn't look or feel pretty, it's a bit rubbery but it tastes ok! And it doesn't have a lot in it so it's probably slightly healthier then those that use a lot of butter. I did put a swipe of butter on it to eat it. I thought while reading comments I'd wasted the ingredients but I'm happy with it. And it's perfect for my daughter as a treat to pop in freezer and defrost occasionally - she also gobbled her slice up

Made an account just to comment that this is a terrible recipe. Banana bread never rose and still hasn't cooked properly after 45 minutes in the oven. What a waste of good food.
