Caraway Seed Cake

Ingredients

Cake mix

  • 250 grams sugar
  • 120 grams Butter, cut into cubes
  • 120 grams Milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 210 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 40 grams custard powder
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds, 2 teas - 2 tabs depending on potency and freshness of seeds

Recipe's preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180C and grease and line a 14cm x 21cm loaf tin.

    Place sugar in the jug and process to castor sugar 3 sec speed 9.

    Add the rest of the ingredients except the caraway seeds and process for 30-40 sec speed 6

    Add caraway seed and mix for 3 sec reverse speed 4

    Bake in a mod-slow oven (150-180C) for an hour or until an inserted skewer comes out clean. 

    Stand for 5 mins before turning out onto a colling rack
