      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees/350F/ Gas Mark 4.

  2. 2. Add butter and sugar to TM bowl and cream together sp8/10sec. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and cream for a further 10sec/sp8 or until light and fluffy.

  3. 3. Add eggs, bananas, buttermilk and vanilla to the bowl. Mix sp6/10sec.

  4. 4. Add flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda and mix for a further 10sec/sp6. Scrape down sides of bowl if necessary and mix for another second or two.

  5. 5. Grease a loaf tin, pour mixture in, transfer to the oven and bake for around 45 minutes to an hour (or until risen and nicely browned).

  6. 6. Remove from the oven and cool in the tin for Round 5 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack. Eat warm or cool and store in an airtight container.
