Granola

  • 100 grams Nuts, whole, raw
  • 300 grams rolled oats
  • 30 grams sunflower seeds
  • 30 grams pepitas
  • 20 grams seeds, hemp
  • 20 grams flaxseeds
  • 150 grams maple syrup/honey/rice bran syrup, your preference or a mix of them
  • 50 grams sultanas
  • 50 grams diced dried apricots
  • 100 grams bran sticks
  • 300 grams rolled oats, extra

Recipe's preparation

    Crunchy clusters
  1. Preheat oven to 160C and line a large 30cm x 40cm tray with paper.
  2. Weight nuts into bowl and chop 3 secs speed 5.
  3. Add 300g oats, seeds and syrup. Mix 10 seconds Counter-clockwise operation speed 3.5.
  4. Place mixture onto tray and compress lightly. Bake in oven for 20 minutes stirring every 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  5. Granola
  6. Place a large bowl on top of Thermomix lid and weight into bowl the extra 300g oats, bran sticks and dried fruit. Add toasted clusters and stir well. Store in an airtight container.

Tip

This recipe makes crunchy granola which is then added to raw oats and bran sticks to make it go further, and also reduce the sugar content!
