Gussie's Biscuits

  • 125 grams white sugar
  • 80 grams unsalted butter, cut into 3 cm cubes

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 180 C. Line baking tray with baking paper and set aside.
    2. Place sugar into mixing bowl and mill 10 sec/ speed 9.
    3. Scrape down edge of mixing bowl, add butter cut into 3cm cubes to cream butter and sugar together 15 sec/speed 4.
    4. Add egg 10 sec/speed 4.
    5. Scrape down side of mixing bowl add self rasing flour, sultanans and salt 10 sec /speed 2.
    6. Scrape down side of mixing bowl 10 sec/speed 2.
    7. Remove measuring cup place large glass bowl onto mixing bowl lid set scales pour in 80 grams of corn flakes. Remove glass bowl, place to the side.
    8. Then using two dessert spoons make balls of the mixture then roll balls in corn flakes coating them.
    9. Then place coated corn flake balls onto prepared tray. Biscuits will flattern as they bake.
    10. Continue to make balls until mixture is finished.
    11. Bake in oven 180 C for 12-15 minutes.
    12. Cool on tray on wire rack and store in air tight container.
