If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Oat Biscuits - Egg free
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees (Fan)

    2. Place butter, sugar, syrup and milk in TMX bowl and cook for 3 min/50 degrees/sp 2 or until butter has melted.

    3. Add oats, flour and baking powder and mix 15 sec/Counter-clockwise operation/sp 2. Scrape sides and repeat.

    4. Place walnut sized balls onto a baking tray lined with parchment and place in the oven. Reduce Oven Temp to 165 degrees.

    5. Cook for 12 - 15 Mins (depending on oven), or until biscuits are crips on the edges and soft in the middle. Longer if you want a more chewy biscuit.

    6. Remove from oven and leave to cool on tray for 5 Mins, then transfer onto wire rack to cool. Store in an air tight container.

Tip

1. You can mill oats for a finer texture or leave as is - photo shows the oats milled

2. You could add finely chopped dried apricots to mix (maybe 2 or 3)

3. you could substitute about 30 g of flour with almond meal.

4. I have made these with normal flour and they just spread alittle in the oven instead of rising into a dome

Easy recipe, turned out well. Used a little extra flour during the rolling process as a little too sticky. If you like sweeter things I suggest adding some dried fruit but outside of that great with a nice cuppa or hot chocolate.
