Super easy, very nice. I'd add more lemon rind next time as I like very tart.

I followed recipe. Didn't let base cool when I poured  top layer on. Was very thin but came out perfect. Also didnt wash bowl in between making base and top

    Thanks for sharing.

Not a winner for me. I made this and it was a disaster ! I've used the base recipe and would recommend that. But ended up making the base in a round low tart dish and filled it with lemon butter.

Omg. These are delicious!! I doubled the recipe for a larger batch but reduced the sugar in the curd by 1/3 as the amount seemed a bit daunting! Still delicious.

Easy to make. Followed recipe exactly but mine also turned out browner, nothing like the picture. Perhaps my oven too hot? Has anyone got theirs to look beautiful like that? Will definitely make again though and experiment.

  • Have just made this & is

    Submitted by 1002FH on 29. April 2015 - 15:00.

Have just made this & is quite tart - needs the icing sugar! (that's why it's called tangy I guess), but was just wondering are you supposed to wait for the base to cool down before adding the topping? On mine you can't tell there is supposed to be a base & top! And 'Raw Sugar' is that raw brown sugar or white? I used raw sugar (brown) but the colour of mine is nothing like the picture - it is quite brown?!  Still a yummy slice & good way to use lemons

    Submitted by Sarak107 on 27. August 2014 - 12:38.

I am not a sweets cook, but these were delicious! I didn't put as much sugar in the filling (used about 180g) and I did panic about how runny it was so put an extra tablespoon of flour in. In hindsight, the extra flour wasn't needed as it firmed up really well in the oven.

I will be making this again tmrc_emoticons.D

    Submitted by Maida on 4. August 2014 - 13:12.

These are definitely tangy and I only used 100 g lemon juice ( 2 lemons)  and 30 g lime juice ( 1/2 lime)  I might adjust to more the lime juice instead of lemon next time. The slice was very easy to make and I didn't even wash the bowl in between cake base and topping.  tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by Cozzy on 7. July 2014 - 02:31.

Absolutely divine, I made in 20cm square tin and the base was a little thicker, I found it hard to press because the baking paper kept lifting driving me crazy, next time I might spray the pan to stick the paper to it... but the taste is so yummy that I'll be making again for sure..

    Submitted by Vonny on 6. July 2014 - 15:00.

It was a very easy recipe and certainly tasted great, but I'll increase the quantities next time. There wasn't enough base for my 24cm slice tin, I had to to make it very thin to get full cover and the filling was very thin (as in final thickness of slice, not texture of uncooked filling). But no problems with the flavour, it was delicious!
