  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom pods
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 4-5 dried pieces of ginger, or 1-2 teaspoons powdered ginger

Recipe's preparation

    Making the Chai Spice Mix
  1. Add all spices to TM bowl and grind for 1 minute/speed 9.

     

    If needed scrape down sides of bowl and grind for another 30 seconds or so until desired consistency is achieved.

Tip

Store in an air-tight jar in cupboard and use in sweet and savoury dishes.

 

Examples:

*add a teaspoon to your morning tea/coffee or smoothie

*add 2 teaspoons to cakes and muffins

*add 2-3 teaspoons to the standard custard recipe for a Chai Spice Custard

    I made this x 6 & used for Christmas gifts last year. Asked for an honest opinion as I don't eat/drink it. Everyone said it could be stronger. I have used it myself in a chai tea cake & it's really good. The cake recipe has gone to the 'favourites' section.

    I have just made this for the first time. Smells amazing!! I added some star aniseed too.

    After filling up a small jar and before washing my bowl I have added some milk and cacao powder and cooked for 10 mins so as not to waste anything tmrc_emoticons.) yumm!!

    I put a tablespoon in the TM bowl with milk and a teaspoon of cacao and heat for 10 minutes/90 degrees/ speed 3

    Very tasty chai hot chocolate!

    Mmm... lovely to have the spice mix ready to go for tea, custard or cakes and bickies! I made a triple batch (enough for a small baby food jar- 120ml) to give a friend as a gift and another small jar (170ml size or so) for my cupboard.
