Ham and Cheese Croissants

  • 12 Croissants
  • 25 g spring onions/shallots, cut into pieces
  • 75 g Butter, room temperature
  • 20 g Dijon mustard
  • 20 g honey
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

  • 1 egg white, whisked with a splash of water

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 190° and prepare a baking tray - you could also use a rack.
  2. Add shallots to TM bowl.
  3. Chop for 3 sec / speed 7. Scrape down bowl and repeat 3 sec / speed 7.
  4. Add butter, Dijon mustard, honey and salt & pepper.
  5. Blend 5 sec / speed 4.5. Scrape down sides and base of bowl and repeat, 5 sec / speed 4.5.
  6. Split croissants in half and spread a small amount of butter mixture on both sides.
  7. Add ham and grated cheese to bottom half of croissant and place top half on.
  8. Brush each croissant with egg wash and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden and warmed through.
  10. Enjoy !!!

Tip

Also delicious with cooked bacon instead of ham.
Can use sliced cheese.
