Dairy free choc nut orange protein balls

Ingredients

24 piece(s)

Protein balls

  • 290 g Organic pitted Medjool dates
  • 100 g Organic raw almonds
  • 2 heaped tbsp hulled organic tahini
  • 2 heaped tbsp Homemade nut butter, Mine was macadamia
  • 50 g Organic Raw Cacao Powder, or more to taste
  • 2 tsp Finely grated orange zest, Or more to taste
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add all ingredients to Thermomix bowl.

    Chop 30 sec/speed 9.

    Scrape down sides of bowl.

    Chop further 10-20 sec/speed 7 or until all ingredients combined.

    Check consistency and taste. Add more cacao/orange rind to taste and mix a further few seconds to thoroughly mix.

    Form into balls.  

    Roll in extra cacao powder, or desiccated coconut if desired.

    Store in fridge.

Tip

If mixture is too wet to roll, refrigerate for an hour before rolling. I found it easier to roll with slightly damp hands.
