Tip

I like to pop the coconut in a zip-lock bag and place the balls in (maybe 6-8 at a time, or as many as you can fit with room to move), zip up, shake around and hey-presto- done! No need to worry about filling a bowl/plate with coconut and rolling one at a time!

    Submitted by Mib8612 on 30. September 2015 - 14:11.

Excellent bliss balls. Top tip about using a plastic bag when coating them with coconut. As I used dried dates, another tip is to double check each date in case the stone hasn't been machinically removed (tip courtesy of The 4 Blades). Will make again.

    Submitted by megpack123 on 26. January 2015 - 11:49.

Very easy to make and mixture held together well.  Unfortunately my kids didn't like these - said they had a horrid aftertaste (you could really taste the dates!)  Might tweak a little to try to improve aftertaste. Anybody else had the same problem and come up with a solution?    This batch going in the bin. I don't need the calories!  Guilt free is over-selling it a bit when you do the calorie breakdown. :)

  • These balls are very yummy!

Submitted by Amanda Boyle on 4. January 2015 - 11:37.

These balls are very yummy! My 5 year old wasn't too fussed on the first batch so I'm now tweaking it to suit our family (using dried cranberries instead of sultanas, using less sunflower seed and more nuts). I used dried dates. The coconut rolling tip is gold! So much easier than rolling them around in a bowl.

Loved these however I didn't have nuts & seeds so I just added 240g of Woolworths fruit & nut mix with the dates.  Made 12 decent sized balls.

    Submitted by edoddsyy on 27. October 2014 - 15:42.

Received our TM5 on Saturday and this was one of the first recipes I made - so delish!

I found 60g of sunflower seeds to be a bit much, so I reduced to 20g and they were still great!

Taste like the should be bad, but so good. Definitely adding these to the "make all the time because they get easten so quickly" list
