I am so glad you all like them I am not sure about the oilyness but mine didn't seem that oily.
Very easy. I even forgot to
Very easy. I even forgot to the mill the walnuts first - just put them all in and skipped the first step and they still turned out great. I haven't used cacao nibs before so this might account for (1) I was a bit surprised by the bitter aftertaste (2) when I rolled the balls they were super oily - is this from the cacao or the walnuts? I rolled them on paper towels before putting in the fridge. Also, my recipe made 14 balls so I worked out they are 83 calories each, just in case anyone else is interested.
Holy moly. These taste
Holy moly. These taste exactly like the kind of dark, fudgy brownie I adore. Not too sweet, easy to make and in a small enough quantity that I won't make a total pig of myself on them I love the note about them lasting up to a week in the fridge - once my husband finds them they won't last a minute!
I didn't have vanilla paste so I used 8g of vanilla sugar. It worked out fine.
