Rice Pudding

Ingredients

8 portion(s)

  • 280 g uncooked Medium Grain Rice, (or Arborio Rice)
  • 900 g Milk, (divided)
  • 135 g sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • cinnamon (ground), to taste

Recipe's preparation

    Rice Pudding
  1. Cook rice as per rice recipe in the EDC (900g water, Varoma/15mins/Speed 4)



    Once the rice is cooked, tip out water left in TM bowl. Add back the cooked rice, 600g milk, sugar and salt. Cook 15 mins/ 90'C/REVERSE/Speed 2 with MC removed.



    Add remaining milk, eggs and vanilla mix for 3secs/REVERSE/Speed 3 then cook on 90'C for 5mins/REVERSE/Speed 2



    Enjoy warm or cold with a sprinkle of cinnamon

    Really good!!! Only used 800g milk all up. 600g then 200g.

    And added a cinnamon stick and 2 strips of lemon peel when first adding the milk.

    I was not that impressed.  I used long grain rice so not sure if i should have used a medium grain.  the egg did not mix in and I found the rice was all mushed up. sorry tmrc_emoticons.-(

    Simply delicious!! I used Arborio rice and only about 700gm milk and one egg and it turned out lovely and creamy.  Made this for my father who absolutely loves rice pudding and I am sure he will love it. tmrc_emoticons.)
