Tip

This may taste a bit tart for some, if so increase the sugar to one cup.  However is really nice to serve with a dessert such as my 'Easy Coconut Pie'  or any dessert which is sweet and maybe with some cream/ice cream as well

We enjoyed these stewed plums very much! I added 1 and half Tablespoons of raw sugar, about 50ml water, a little each of cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as some grated orange zest. Great with natural yoghurt or muesli.

I didn't add water and it was a great consistency, maybe even still on the runny side - they were very juicy plums. I also didn't use any sugar at all.

Stewed plums: very nice for deserts or over cereal, although this turned out to be a very thin sauce. I did not add water.

I used about 50 ml sugar as we prefer tartness. Next time I will omit cloves as it is a bit overpowering.

    Submitted by Harrop16 on 16. February 2015 - 11:13.

Yummy- I de stoned the plums first and then puréed at the end as our family doesn't like the skins. Was a bit runny but was fine with icecream. we also use this as a tonic for my husbands gout. Also used brown sugar

A hit in our household! I put it on top of Greek yoghurt with a sprinkle of muesli for my son's school snack. Very gourmet, with not much effort!  Big Smile
