Creamy Tuna Casserole

  • 140 grams tasty cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 100 grams Salted butter
  • 80 grams plain flour
  • 1000 grams full cream milk
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 425 grams Canned Tuna
  • 50 grams breadcrumbs

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Blitz the cheese 5 sec/speed 7 and put aside.
    2. Add 80g of the butter to mixing bowl. Cook for 3 min/100deg/speed 1/MC on.
    3. Add the plain flour. Cook for 3 min/100deg/speed 1/MC on.
    4. Add the milk, lemon juice and salt. Cook for 6 min/90deg/speed 4/MC off.
    5. Add the tin of drained tuna. Mix 20 sec/speed 2/reverse.
    6. Transfer to a casserole dish and top with breadcrumbs and dob pieces of remaining 20g butter over breadcrumbs. Top with cheese and bake in oven 180deg until brown.

*Let rest for 20 mins to cool before serving.
