      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Prepare mash potato as per bcb

    Sausages -

    2. Pierce each of the sausages with a knife/fork a couple of times and place in Varoma and Varoma tray

    3. Place water 1000g (1L) in bowl and then place Varoma into position and cook for 20mins - Varoma temperature, speed 2

    4. Remove Varoma - allow sausages to cool a little before cutting to desired size

    5. Discard water from TM bowl.

    Curry mix -

    6. Add garlic to TM bowl and chop 3 secs on speed 5

    7. Add onions and turbo 2 secs (once or twice) to get chunky onion pieces, open and scrape down the bowl

    8. Add butter and curry powder to bowl and saute for 3 mins - Varoma temperature gentle stir setting Gentle stir setting

    9. Add apple and saute for a further 3 mins, Varoma temperature, speed 1 reverse Counter-clockwise operation

    11. Add cut sausages, peas, sultanas and salt and pepper to TM bowl. The bowl is pretty full by this stage so scrape down bowl to mix through. Just what I needed to use up the other half of a pack of sausages.

I steamed carrots and zucchini over the sausages, and added celery with the apple.

So good, I blended the apple with the onion and added a touch of sour cream at the end. It was a winner.
I also grilled the snags, didn't bother cooking them in the thermo.

I made this the other night, it turned out amazing, the right texture, etc. I usually make my curried sausages with chicken stock though, so I didn't really like the beef stock, but other than that this recipe is similar to the one I usually do on the stove but im so excited I can do it with my Thermo 😊 ill do it with chicken stock next time ❤

My family loved the flavour! So easy to make!

I used 500gm sausages, 1 tbsp curry powder, no sultanas, I added thinly sliced carrot and cooked rice in the basket while the sausages cooked in the Varoma (300gm rice rinsed and 900 gm water in the TM bowl for 14 mins, Varoma, speed 4 with snags place on Varoma tray). I did brown the snags in a frypan after too as they weren’t quite cooked thoroughly and we like the brown look tmrc_emoticons.)

will be making this again again and again!

    Submitted by sher96 on 23. July 2020 - 22:34.

My husband has been hassling me for curried sausages for years. I chose this recipe as he wanted one containing sultanas.

I added the Apple at the garlic and onion step so it was chopped finely (so kids wouldn't spot it) I also had two broccoli stalks that needed using up so I added them. You could easily add more vegetables at this step to be chopped up and hidden.

I added a tad extra turmeric and then some honey through at the end for some sweetness.

I also subbed tomato sauce for tomato paste as it was all I had.

    great recipe, thanks

First time making curried sausages at husbands request and he absolutely loved it, the curry was beautiful but the sausages weren’t quite cooked enough, I would prob pan fry or grill next time. It was too spicy for the 10yr old and I didn’t add the sultanas. Very yummy dish - thank you 😊

A super yummy recipe and a new favourite in our house. My husband had three helpings! Instead of using the Varoma to cook the sausages, I boiled them and this worked fine. I also didn’t have beef stock so substituted with chicken stock and it worked nicely.
