      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

Curried Sausages With Rice or Mash Potato
  1. 1)  Place Water, Salt and Olive Oil into THX Bowl. Insert simmering basket and add Rice into the basket and cook 20Min/100Temp/Speed4. Once cooked place Rice into Thermoserver.

    2)  Add 500 grams of water into Thx Bowl, then insert the simmering basket. Place 800 grams of diced Potatoe into the simmering basket.

    3)  Place Sausages into the Varoma bottom bowl, if they all dont fit you can place some into the top tray of the Varroma. Then cook 13Min/Varoma/Speed4.

    4)  Remove the Varoma once sausages are done and place aside to cool for 5 minutes.

    5) Place Measuring Cup on lid and continue cooking the Potatoes in the simmering basket until potatoes are soft, then remove from simmering basket and place in Thermoserver to stay warm.

    6)  Remove water from THX Bowl and rinse out THX Bowl and dry.

    7)  Place into the THX Bowl, Garlic, Onion, Apple and Tomatoe and Measuring Cup on lid and chop 6Sec/0Temp/Speed5.

tmrc_emoticons.8)  Remove Measuring Cup and Lid and scrap down sides of THX Bowl with Spatula.

    9)  Add to the THX Bowl, Curry Powder, Mustard Powder, Olive Oil, Onion Soup Mix and place Lid and Measuring Cup onto THX Bowl and saute 3Min/100Temp/ReverseSpeed 1.

    10)  Whislt the saute is happening in Step 8, remove the sausages from the Varoma and peel the skins from the sausages. Then cut into eight.

    11)  Place sausages in THX Bowl with the Curry Sauce.

    12)  Add Water and Veggie Stock to the THX Bowl, place the Lid and Measuring Cup on THX Bowl and cook for further 5Min/100Temp/ReverseSpeed1.

    13)  Remove Curried Sausages and place in Thermoserver.

  2. Mash Potatoes
  3. 1)  Rinse out THX Bowl and wipe down, Insert Butterfly, place potatoes in THX Bowl with butter and milk. Wisk for 30Sec/60Temp/Speed3, if this is not smooth enough repeat process until done.

I made this tonight and it was delicious! Thankyou.

Like others, I found this way too salty. Next time, maybe only using 1 Tbs of French onion mix would be good.

To make it not so salty, I ended up adding 4tsp of sugar and 600mls of thickened cream, 1/2 tsp curry powder, which then made it perfect.

I also added frozen peas/corn/beans (packet mix) at the end, which gave it a really nice extra bit of texture.

I struggled a bit reading/keeping my spot with the instructions, as it’s all together in 1 big block of writing. Having it seperated would really help.

Thankyou again - this was delicious and i’ll be making it again for sure!

This was a nice meal, the kids ate it. Only problem was that most of my sausages got shredded even on reverse speed in the final step.
