For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Preheat Oven to 175°C.
  1. Lightly spray a deep 23cm x 13cm loaf tin with vegetable oil spray. Line a baking tray with foil and spray it with vegetable oil spray.
  2. In the Thermomix bowl, combine the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and dry mustard powder. Mix at speed 5 for 10 seconds until well combined. Set this sauce mixture aside.
  3. Add 3 tbsp Tomato Sauce
    Add 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    Add pinch salt
    Add pinch pepper and
Add 2 tsp dry mustard powder
Mix at speed 5 for 10 seconds until well combined.
    Set this sauce mixture aside.
  4. Without cleaning the Thermomix bowl, add the lean topside mince, grated carrot, grated parsnip, breadcrumbs, and egg white. Mix at speed 4 for 20 seconds or until the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Add the previously prepared sauce mixture to the meat mixture in the Thermomix bowl. Mix at speed 3 for 15 seconds.
  6. Gradually add the evaporated milk while mixing at speed 3 until the mixture is well combined. The mixture might be quite wet.
  7. Press the meat mixture into the greased loaf tin. Then, turn the tin upside down onto the foil-lined tray, leaving the loaf tin still in place over the meatloaf.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the loaf tin, brush the meatloaf with the glaze mixture, and return it to the oven.

Continue baking for an additional 1 to 1.5 hours or until the meatloaf is cooked through, and the glaze is caramelized.
