Ingredients

Warm chicken and noodles with ginger and hoisin sauce

  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 2cm piece of ginger, roughly chopped
  • 2 level tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 level tablespoons of rice wine
  • 1/4 cup of hoisin sauce
  • 600 grams of chicken breast or thighs, diced into bite size pieces
  • 200 grams of fresh green beans topped and tailed and cut into 2cm dice
  • 3 spring onions diced
  • 1 red capsicum quartered and thinly sliced
  • 1 small handful of corriander or parsly, sliced
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 1 400gram packet of singapore noodles

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place the diced chicken ito a bowl ready to marinade

    Sauce

    Put garlic and ginger into the bowl and chop 4 seconds, speed 6 - scrape bowl with your spatula and repeat

    Add soy sauce, rice wine, hoisin sauce - blend 6 seconds, speed 4

    Pour sauce into a jug and set aside --- no need to wash the bowl

    Add 1/4 cup of sauce to the chicken and mix well - set aside for a minimum of half an hour to marinade

    Add one litre of water to your bowl, place chicken in top and bottom of the varoma and sprinkle the beans over the chicken - making sure there are some holes for the steam -- cook 20 minutes veroma, speed 3

    Boil your kettle and place noodles in the thermosaver and pour over boiling water and let them sit for 5 minutes - drain well and put back into thermosaver - swirl with your spatula to seperate the noodles

    Add capsicum, spring onions, parsley/corriander, then when chicken and beans are cooked add to the bowl and pour over the rest of the sauce - gently combine and serve with the sesame seeds sprinkled on top

    This was the first thing we have made and had a little more chicken so it took slightly longer. We also added mushroom and capsicum to the Veroma to cook with the chicken. I also warmed and reduced the sauce.

    This is a fabulous meal. Enough for 4 big eaters and so delicious! I wish there were more Stars to rate it with. It is absolutely amazing. I could live on this!
