For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip

Recipe originally in My Way of Cooking

These take the same amount of time as soft boiled eggs so you can do both at the same time.

If you have already boiled the kettle for your morning cuppa, just add hot water to Closed lid and cook eggs as per Step 4.

Poaching rings are optional. If using, add them at step 2.

  • does this result in runny

    Submitted by lj on 28. June 2014 - 08:38.

does this result in runny yolk or is it firm? I just did this a different way and the yolks were firm - which is why I turned to google to see where I went wrong. I'm happy to try again if someone can confirm this for me. Eggs are serious business tmrc_emoticons.-)

Lovely non mess way of cooking eggs. This worked great and I loved the non fried taste of the eggs. I used baking paper instead of paper towel and the eggs did not stick at all. Also you can cook three times as many eggs this way than poaching. Thanks tmrc_emoticons.)
