Ingredients

Classic Mac'n'Cheese

  • 300 g Macaroni Pasta
  • 1 onion, peeled
  • 8 whole clove
  • 820 g Milk
  • 70 g Butter
  • 35 g plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 85 g grated cheese, Plus extra to sprinkle over dish
  • 6 bacon rashers, rind removed and chopped
  • 1 bunches green onion, sliced
  • spinach, handful
  • breadcrumbs, dried. Enough to sprinkle over dish

Recipe's preparation

    mac'n'cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 180. Grease a 2 litre shallow ovenproof dish.
  2. Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water according to packet directions. Drain and place in dish. Top with handful of spinach.
  3. Meanwhile. Stud onion with cloves. Place milk in bowl and add studded onion. Set Warm Up"Warm Up" to 80 degrees Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"
  4. Once at temperature. Remove onion. Add butter, flour and nutmeg. Cook for 7 minutes 90 deg speed 3.
  5. Add cheese and cook for 2 minutes 90 deg speed 3.
  6. While sauce is cooking fry up bacon and green onions. Once cooked stir through pasta and spinach mix.
  7. Stir through cooked sauce and top with extra grated cheese and breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Stand for 5 minutes and serve.
