Tip
I am unsure of the origin of this recipe but my mother has been making this for years and it is my absolute favorite meal of all time - nothing beats my mum's spaghetti bolognese in my opinion!
Most people say it is even better the next day combined with the pasta but I love it either way!

Really good!
My hard-to-please hubbie loved this & wants it on regular rotation! He liked it more than our local restaurant version - high praise indeed. I really like that there's good wriggle room with this recipe, so it's good to use up other ingredients that might be at hand. Thx for posting.

The entire family loved this! I added tomato paste and a jar of passata instead of the bbq sauce and gave it a small blitz at the end to remove the bigger lumps. An absolute winner!!
Kids comment: Absolutely loved it! Best spaghetti bolognase Mum's ever made! All of course because of the ThermoMix. I give it 5 STARS!

I'm kicking myself that I haven't used this recipe before!
It's everything that everyone has praised it for and my very fussy husband loved it too.
So yummy, and I too will be using this recipe from now on.
With no tomato soup, I used tomato paste & half a bottle of passata.
I also tipped a cup or so of frozen veggies (peas, corn, carrot and cut beans) into it.
I added 'pizza' cheese to ours as it is a good mix of cheeses and that's what I had in the fridge. Plus, being empty nesters, we sprinkled dry chilli on top to serve - yum!
Oh, and the best part was that it made enough to both refrigerate and freeze some.

Good consistency and colour, but very sweet. If I were to make this again, I would leave out the steak sauce.

This is the best! I've tried many others & now I have 'the one'.... Nom... Nom... I did had to adapt like some others as I was missing some ingredients listed. Instead of soup, steak sauce, powdered beef stock I put in tinned tomatoes, tomato paste, TMX beef stock paste, red wine & I added chopped zucchini, carrot, mushrooms & celery. It's added to my list. THANK YOU

Thanks for this recipe! I used only half the meat and used a tin of chopped tomatoes instead of soup. I also added a handful of mushrooms, half a large red capsicum and a whole medium zuchini to the onion. i had to blitz at the end as there were some chunks of mince. It was delicious! My toddler and husband ate it all, there was plenty left over for the next night. I will make this again!

Finally, a TMX bolognese that competes with the stove version. Thank you! It's by far the best recipe of all i've tried in cookbooks and recipe community. I added black beans and bone broth instead of the other 500g mince to make it healthier but will try extra veg in with the onios next time.
AWESOME! Fabulous recipe
AWESOME!
Fabulous recipe which tasted great and didn't have the grainy consistency that thermie mince recipes usually have.
This was yummy but I did
This was yummy but I did change it a bit. First, I only used 500gms of mince, then I didn't have beef stock cubes so I used chicken and then I added a tub of tomato paste. It was a big hit in this house and the less mince was great for a 4 person household. This will be a favorite in our house. Thanks for posting.
Bloody amazing! Thankyou for
Bloody amazing! Thankyou for a fab recipe, the whole household loved it, including the fussy toddler
It is a big dish - it
It is a big dish - it probably feeds 6 adults really well. you can freeze the sauce though. I have never tried halving it but i am sure it would work. just remember to minus 20% off the main cooking time as per usual recipe halving technique.
How many portions does this
How many portions does this make? Seems like a lot! I only want 4 portions, would it work if I just halved this recipe?

I think cooking with the meat
I think cooking with the meat adds to the amazing flavour - if you wanted to make ahead of time it freezes fantastically!

I LOOOVE this sauce! And so does the hubby and kiddo!
I was hoping you could tell me how i could go about making it without the meat, so i can prep it ahead of time, and hopefully eliminate the need to buy spaghetti sauce again! (Hubby is scared of the Thermie, and i don't always have the time to make it lol)
I'd love you forever if anyone could help me out!
My son (26 years old) said
My son (26 years old) said this was the best Bolognsee he had ever eaten! Only used 500g mince and replaced steak sauce with "Bubba Rays Kick Arse Bourbon Sauce" and it was delicious. Used less evoo. Added a little water as other comments said. Very tasty.
This is my new favourite
This is my new favourite Bolognese sauce. I added a can of crushed tomatoes. I made a batch for my parents who have asked for more so it's definitely a winner in my family.
Just made this using vege
Just made this using vege stock instead of powdered beef stock, red wine instead of steak sauce, added 50g tomato paste and instead of 1kg mince I only used 600g and added about 8 mushrooms to the basket too. Delicious!!! So happy I finally found an awesome spag bol recipe. Thanks for sharing
I did try it with vege stock
I did try it with vege stock but I went back to beef - but I was trying to recreate the flavour of my mother's dish exactly so i am sure vege stock would be fine!
Has anyone used stock
Has anyone used stock concentrate instead of powdered stock? I'm a total novice and not sure if it would work...
I discovered this recipe
I discovered this recipe about 6 months ago and it's my absolute favourite meal. I make it at least weekly and it's amazing every time! I have got all my thermo friends on the bandwagon for this recipe and they all have the same opinion! Thankyou Donna, you're a star
