SMJ Andrews: Damn, wish I had also read your comment about the extra water and increasing the speed from 2 to 4. I normally read the comments particular if the recipe is for a TM31 as I have a TM5. I've just made a vow to myself to read the comments from now on without exception. Smile

I love this. I've got a tm5 so cooking the rice on speed 4 is fine. I just use frozen peas, corn, carrot and some chopped broccoli. To be honest I find it easier to do the eggs in a skillet on the stovetop. Easy, kids love it.

I own a TM5, and believe on that model you can cook varoma speed 4 (as the chip recipe for boiled rice does this!). Given the bigger bowl, I added an extra 100ml water and cooked speed 4, mine was perfect. Recipe was very good, would definitely make again but half portion would be plenty for us.

    sambom:

    Hi
As per safety guidelines in the instruction manual, Varoma temperature is not to be used with speeds higher that speed 2 in your TM31. We asked the publisher to change their recipe to as per guidelines to a lower speed or longer cooking time or both and to republish once tested. Which they have done.We do not advise that you use any speed higher than speed 2 when cooking on Varoma Temperature in this recipe.

    Kind Regards

Beware: I often make this recipe from a printed out copy that I have. Unfortunately, I didn't use my print out and just followed the recipe on the computer. For some reason, the recipe has been changed and says to cook on speed 2. This means that the rice does not cook in the given time. Why has this changed from the speed 4 on my old print out? Very annoying that it has changed and also annoying as I should've realised the mistake! I now have to re-cook my rice!

    Submitted by Gabstar27 on 21. September 2017 - 17:56.

Terrible. Followed the recipe to a T. Didn't change the amount of rice that was said to use and used the times as listed exactly. The rice was not cooked. Even after an extra 5 minutes. The egg also didn't cook in the suggested time. The rice issue seems to be a repetitive comment here so perhaps the recipe should be looked at again. It's 6pm and it looks like my kids won't be having dinner any time soon, I may have to do a seperate batch of rice.

    Submitted by Sharondegning1987 on 7. July 2017 - 13:26.

When i started making this the idea was just to get my fussy 2 year old to eat... My partner said "so basically your boiling rice and adding some veg"
After he and my daughter ate all theirs (and my partner went back for seconds) he said it was better then the local chinese restaurant and asked if it was easy enough to make so i could make it more. I'd say that ment it was a big hit and my partners fav reciepe ive ever done in the thermo.
    Thank you so much!
