Rice, absorption method using automated function

  • 500 grams basmati/jasmine rice

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place garlic and carrot into mixing bowl, chop 3 sec / speed 7.

    2. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl, add olive oil and saute 2 mins / varoma / sp 1.

    3. Add rice and salt, saute 2 mins / varoma / Counter-clockwise operation / sp 1.

    4. Add water and celery leaves, then go to the automated function, boiled rice, the last step in this recipe, then flick it on for automatic cooking.

    5. When finished remove celery leaves before serving.


Accessories you need



You can add a 5cm square piece of capsicum with the celery for extra flavour, then remove also before serving.
