This is an old family favourite, converted for the Thermomix.
    1. Cut 250g block of light tasty cheese into 2cm sized cubes.
    2. In empty TM bowl with lid on, spin the blades on speed 6, throw the cheese cubes in through the hole at the top and replace the MC.  Grate cheese for 10-15 seconds.
    3. Set cheese aside.
    4. In empty bowl, add a garlic clove and one onion, halved.  Chop on speed 6 for 1 second.  Scrape to bottom.
    5. Add 20g of coconut cooking oil, sauté for 5 minutes on Varoma temperature, Speed 1.
    6. Add half a green capsicum, roughly chopped and chop for 3 seconds on Speed 4.
    7. Add 100g Basmati rice, sauté for 1 minute on Varoma temperature, Reverse and Speed 1.
    8. Add a tin of tomatoes, 230g water, 450g tin of tuna and one dessert spoon of TM vegetable stock.  Cook for 16 minutes, Varoma temperature, Reverse and Speed 1.
    9. Pour half mixture into Thermo Server or casserole dish, add half the cheese on top, then add the remainder of the tuna rice mixture and top with the remainder of the cheese, replace Thermo Server lid.

Great budget friendly meal. I made this last night, few changes to accomodate what I had on hand. Used 3xsmall tins of tuna, no capsicum but added frozen pea corn and carrot in the last 5 mins of cooking. Used less cheese, about 170g. Mister nearly 2 loved it tmrc_emoticons.)

  • This was amazing! It was so

This was amazing! It was so simple to make and there was no food left over for lunches tomorrow. I did make a couple of alterations on a printed copy of this recipe (i.e. blitzed capsicum & onion longer/faster, less cheese) to suit our tastes. This is definitely going to be made again. It's already added to my favourites. Well done!

  • Made this from fridge and

Made this from fridge and cupboard ingredients tonight. Extra vegetables - as in previous comments, half a long chilli and some Tuscan herbs.  No cheese used at all, as my hubby is not a cheese fan. Really really good, going into the favourites.

  • I never usually leave

    Submitted by KellyJK on 20. December 2013 - 19:39.

I never usually leave negaitive comments on forums but this really was truly awful. My husband hated it, my 4 year old hated, my 2 year old hated it and I just ate it because i wanted to keep everyone positive. I had to make toast for the kids to give them something for dinner. Don't bother making this. There seeemd to be too much tuna in relation to the rice so it was chewy and it tasted far too cheesy. I actually felt like I was eating fishy, chewy cheese. Sorry who ever made this but just dont want others to make it and trust that it will be ok. Next time I should note that it wasn't graded.

  • Delicious meal - added some

Delicious meal - added some zucchini and red capsicum and only used about 80 grams of cheese, the kids still thought it was lovely and super cheesy!
