  • 2 garlic, Peeled
  • 1 brown onion, Peeled & halved
  • 1 Red Apples, Halved
  • 400 g ripe tomatoes, Halved
  • 3 Ripe plum, Washed & stoned
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 100 g apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons treacle
  • 1 bay leaf

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place garlic, onion and apple into TM bowl and chop for 3 seconds on speed 7.

    Add tomatoes and plums and mix for 30 seconds on speed 7.

    Add all other ingredients and cook for 30 minutes at 100ºC on speed 1 with MC in place.

    To thicken sauce cook for another 14 minutes at Varoma temperature on speed 1. To reduce spatter, but allow reduction of liquid, replace MC with steamer basket.

    Remove bay leaf, and blend for 1 minute on speed 8. Pour into hot sterilized jars.

    Very nice.... I didn't have treacle so used golden syrup and found I needed to add another 1-2 teaspoons of raw sugar just to take the acidity out. I also needed another 20 mins cooking to thicken and richen the sauce.

    This makes WAY more than 1 jar as stated in the recipe - I got about 1.2L from this, which if I'd known, I would've halved the recipe. But if you wish to make gifts, you'll get a few jars out of this. I've just poured some over some pork and popped it in the slow cooker so will see how it comes out.

    I made this at xmas time to put into gift hampers for family, and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! Now I just have to make it for myself to have! Thanks!!
