Ingredients

0 portion(s)

Ingredients

  • 180 grams Fresh ricotta
  • 180 grams Tinned tuna in brine
  • 20 grams Fresh lemon juice (½ lemon)

Recipe's preparation

    Step 1
  1. Take one large (185g) tin of tuna in Springwater (I use Sirena brand) and match the amount with fresh ricotta (have a little more on hand if you'd like to add some). If you want a thinner consistancy, use the water from the tuna tin, otherwise dispose of the water - you may want to add a little salt (optional).

Then squeeze the juice from half a lemon and whizz - 10 sec / Speed 8 should do the job! Check the consistancy, you may want to scrape down the sides and do for another 10 seconds.

If you like your lemon, have a taste and add more if you think it needs it. You can add a little less ricotta too if you'd like a stronger tuna flavour.

This is a great healthy and easy dip, for adults and kids! Really good for when you've had your weekly hummos fill!

If the kids aren't tasting it - why not try the chilli flavoured tuna!

  • As an alternative to Hommus I

As an alternative to Hommus I gave this one a go.  It certainly scores points for simplicity and is quick to make!

The kids were not thrilled and said it was missing something, to which I agreed, so as it stands I give it 3 stars.

However I added 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder and achieved a 3.5-4 out of 5!  See what you think tmrc_emoticons.)
