I used a can of sliced Beetroot. I drained it but saved some of the liquid to use later. I didn't add horseradish or mustard and it still turned out fine.

I just used a  medicum can 420g? Or a pack of the sealed packets you get from the veg section at the supermarket. Fresh beets would work just as well.

    Submitted by digibron on 21. June 2014 - 10:11.

I ended up using a 450g tin of baby beetroot (drained) and that worked perfectly. I served this at a house party with another thermie-made dip but this one was definitely the favourite!
