  • I feel like Lisa Simpson's

Submitted by The Muffin Police on 13. June 2015 - 21:16.

I feel like Lisa Simpson's pet horse in that episode where Lisa excessively feeds the horse salt licks.. I feel like ive just open mouth back stroked accross the Tasman Sea.. I feel like an Olympic marathon has just been ran in my mouth with no gold medallion given at the finish line.. To put it bluntly this was a salty episode of salt in the city, and all even Miranda  was gettin it in.. Good lord.. Global El nino currents are diverting as a direct reduction of ocean salt deposits...

I give this recipe 2 out of 5 Simpsons horse salt licks!

This did not work for me and as others have said was too salty and thick. i will try again perhaps using 1 teaspoon of vege stock instead of a tablespoon.

    Submitted by CatherineP on 26. June 2014 - 20:04.

I also had the problem of this being too thick/salty. I don't know if it was user error or if my wine wasn't quite right. In the end I had to add water to prevent it from being too thick as well as adding sugar as it was just too salty. I will try again in the future, hopefully I get it right next time!

    Seriously Yum!

I just made this to put on Pork loin chops for dinner tonight and I just had a taste of this and it really is delicious. I tweaked it a bit as I didnt have wine so instead I just used 100ml of cream. I will be making this to have with meat more often. Thanks for the recipe tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Made this sauce to go with

    Submitted by CAG69 on 11. June 2014 - 19:50.

Made this sauce to go with dinner tonight and it was beautiful.  I didn't use any flour to thicken as it was fairly thick without it, and in fact added a little cream at the end.  It was a winner and we'll be having it again.

  • I have gotten to the final

    Submitted by Leila85 on 10. June 2014 - 18:22.

I have gotten to the final step where I should be adding flour, have slowly added 1.5 tablespoons of the flour, it was extremely thick and quite like a paste. I added an extra 3/4 cup of water to get a runny sauce consistancy and cooked it for 6 mins/37degrees/Counter-clockwise operationGentle stir setting so that it didnt have a floury taste to it.

    Submitted by Lanamichelle on 17. January 2014 - 20:18.

I was not sure why the recipe called for 3T flour, when it was more than thick enough before adding the flour.  I later realised that the recipe doesn't say when to add the 300g water, so mine was a little on the thick/salty side.  However, the flavour was awesome and I will definitely make it again, but next time WITH the 300g water!

    Submitted by Dancinboop on 4. January 2014 - 10:17.

I have made his twice and both times it wasn't as good as I was hoping for, I had to try again because of all the great reviews . It was very thick and salty. I added some cream and it helped it a bit but  after making it twice and not being happy I don't think I would try again.

I made this last night. After 30 mins cooking, almost all of the liquid had evaporated. I added some more water and then thickened it with one tablespoon of flour.  It was very tasty. I don't think I would cook it for that long again.
