CITRUS HOMMUS (with Essential Oils)

  • 1 cloves garlic
  • 400 grams Canned Chickpeas, rinsed, drained
  • 20 g lemon juice, approx. 0.5 lemons
  • 2 tablespoon tahini
  • 20 grams extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 7 drops Doterra Lemon Essential Oil
  • 7 drops Doterra Lime Essential Oil
  • 2 drops DoTERRA Black Pepper Oil
  • 3 drops DoTERRA Cumin Essential Oil
  • 2 tablespoon water

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place garlic clove into mixing bowl and chop 3 sec / speed 7. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula and repeat 3 sec / speed 7.
  2. Add chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, salt, water, essential oils and mix 10-15 sec / speed 5, or until desired consistency is achieved.
  3. Serve immediately. Garnish with extra olive oil and lemon rind twist.
