Homemade Big Macs (Hamburgers)

Ingredients

4 portion(s)

Hamburger

  • 400 gram Rump Steak, trim fat, cube
  • salt and peper to taste
  • 4 bread rolls
  • 1 bunches Iceberg Lettuce, sliced
  • 4 slice tasty cheddar cheese

Special Sauce

  • 250 g mayonnaise, (Regular, low fat/ thermomix made)
  • 2 tablespoons French Dressing
  • 95 g Sweet pickle relish
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 tsp white vinegar
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 6

Recipe's preparation

    Special Sauce
  1. Pop onion in TM bowl, chop for 5 seconds on speed 7

    Add Oil and saute for 2 - 3 minutes at 100degress on speed 1.

    Insert Butterfly into the bowl before adding additional ingredients.

    Add mayonnaise, french dressing, sweet pickle relish, vinegar, sugar and salt.

    Mix on speed 4, in 3 x 10 sec intervals, scraping down the sides inbetween intervals.

    Place in a jar and refrigerate several hours or overnight. 

    Stir a couple of times while chilling.

  3. Add meat in thermomix.

    Mince for 15 seconds on speed 7.

    Add salt and pepper and mince for another 10 seconds on speed 7. 

    Turn meat out and press into hamburger press. (makes 4 - 6 - pending on desired width)

    Sit in refrigerator for a minimum of 1/2 hour, and then cook in a non stick pan or barbecue. No additional oil is required in the pan. 

    Assemble burgers: Bread top, special sauce, chesse, burger, bread bottom.

    Enjoy!

Tip

Make sauce day before or morning of meal. Can keep in the fridge for other meals.

    This sauce is a winner - lasts for a good long time in the fridge too.  I didn't have enough pickle relish, so used a bit of tomato as well.  Thanks for sharing tmrc_emoticons.)
