Spicy Apple Chutney

Ingredients

Chutney

  • 500 grams Cooking Apples ie. Granny smith
  • 1 medium brown onion
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 cm piece of fresh ginger peeled
  • 100 grams raisins
  • 120 grams Rapadura Sugar, or raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons tumeric
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 100 grams flavoured balsamic vinegar, e.g. lime and ginger
  • 125 grams white vinegar
  • 125 grams verjuice

Recipe's preparation

  1. Mince ginger and lemon zest speed 8, 3 secs

    Add onion (halved) and chop speed 5, 3 secs

    Add apples (peeled, cored and quartered) and chop speed 4, 4 secs or until texture of your choice

    Add all remaining ingredients and cook 35 mins, 100, speed 2 Counter-clockwise operation

    Spoon into hot sterilised jars.
