Stawberry and Rose Jam

Ingredients

2 jar(s)

Have ready:

  • 500g Fresh de-hulled Strawberries
  • 450g raw sugar
  • 50g Jamsetta pectin/sugar
  • 1 small Lemon - flesh only
  • 3 Fresh Rose geranium leaves

Recipe's preparation

    Method:
  1. Add Geranium leaves & lemon to bowl and chop 3 sec / speed 7

  2. Add remaining ingredients and chop 3 sec / speed 4

  3. Place steamer basket on top of the lid and cook 28min / varoma / Speed 2

Tip

 

Sterilise your jars and lids in boiling water or hot oven while jam is cooking in the TM so they are ready to pour hot to hot and seal.

Extreemly hot to handle, please use correct equipment

For a conserve/chunky jam, place only 100g of berries in step 2, then add the other 400g after it's chopped. For really smooth Jam, in step 2, chop 6 seconds on speed 7.

I buy Jamsetta at my local Wollworths Supermarket where all the cake decorating items are, but you also make your own - just do a google search tmrc_emoticons.)  You don't have to have it, but the Jam is somewhat runny without it.
