  • I cut the sugar by 2 thirds,

I cut the sugar by 2 thirds, omitted the mixed spice, doubled the curry and mustard powders and added a teaspoon of ground chillies and it was absolutely delicious. I am on my third batch now!

This Tomato Relish is delicious. I used chilli instead of mixed spice. My family also love it. I've made it twice now. I have people asking me to make them some it is that good. tmrc_emoticons.)

I have just made this, but it is very sweet and also very runny  - is it meant to be liquid?

Unfortunately mine was very runny as well - so i cooked it for longer, added more cornflour - and still pretty runny - so i put it on Varoma temp to try to thicken it up ! BIG MISTAKE - first time i have ever burnt my poor bowl tmrc_emoticons.((

  • I made this today and it

    Submitted by sleepymumma on 23. November 2012 - 12:28.

I made this today and it turned out really really sweet, more like tomato jam. Are you sure the sugar quantity is written in correctly? I happened to have 2kg tomatoes so I am making a second batch minus the sugar to see if mixing them together to dilute the sugar a bit helps!

  • Thanks Joycelyn, Seeing this

Thanks Joycelyn, Seeing this recipe I realized I too had a basic tomato sauce recipe that I could share.  I took the time to do a batch so I could check the times and speeds. I have now published  my Pizza Sauce recipe.
