Tip

If you have a big family, or like more veges in your soup, you can add more chicken to the soup (leaving the peas out) and cook at Varoma temperature with the peas and some other veges steaming on top. Place the steamed veges in individual bowls and spoon the soup over the top. Adjust amount of chicken stock paste to taste, depending how salty you like it. You can use raw cashews instead of almonds for a creamier, smoother soup. If you can't have nuts, leave them out and just use 100g ground rice + 100g whole rice in the recipe.

  • This was so good! Definitely
    Submitted by MsSarahJ88 on 26. November 2016 - 11:38.

This was so good! Definitely will be making again. I didn't have alot of vegetables on hand to make the stock so just used 1 onion and 2 carrots and then for the actual soup again used 2 carrots, onion and garlic and the peas at the end and was delicious. Will add more chicken next time. One thing I didn't do was add 2 tablespoons of the chicken stock as I cooked this prior to the soup so the residual stock was in there whilst cooking. I think if you added the 2 tablespoons it may be too salty. Will add more vegetables at the end next time like zucchini & asparagus. I also added some baby spinach to the bowl when I was eating it which was also pretty good

I love this soup. It's easy to make, healthy and freezes well. I always throw in steamed green veggies at the end (usually zucchini and frozen peas).

    Submitted by Madso on 18. September 2016 - 19:43.

This has become a staple at our house. It's a hit with grown ups and toddlers and my hubby was surprised to learn it doesn't have cream in it. I prefer to use cashews than almonds.

It's a bit of a pain having to make the chicken stock from scratch but worth it for us as I've been making the soup weekly and the stock lasts for quite a few batches.

One of the nicest soups I have ever tasted. We add heaps of green vegies at the end too. This recipe freezes really well too which makes it a top choice for lunches.

This is so yummy! I have made this a few times now and used vegetable stock paste instead of chicken stock paste because I didn't have time to make it, but had the vege srock paste ready to go. It's a hit in our house, even my 14 month old loves it!

    Submitted by MissyPerth on 6. April 2016 - 00:30.

Oh I'm so disappointed! I made the stock paste and the soup - and no one except me liked it!

I can't quite pin down what they didn't like but it is quite rich and the stock paste is extremely salty, even though I did reduce the amount of paste in the soup. So sad tmrc_emoticons.(

I have been eyeing off this receipe for a while now...before I even got my thermomix.  And it was worth the wait.  I had to refer to your original recipe on your blog as you have not listed the garlic in the list of ingredients (I love garlic, so didn't want to leave this out).  A beautiful hearty soup, which I know will become a regular dish in our house.  Thank you tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Omitted the almonds as not a
    Submitted by maplegoh on 20. March 2016 - 18:26.

Omitted the almonds as not a fan of almonds, and used chicken stock cubes instead of making the stock paste because I didn't have the ingredients. The soup wasn't as tasty as I had expected it to be, and came out quite bland. Maybe it's because I wasn't using the stock paste like everyone else!

Also, instructions can be misleading because the soup comes first in the ingredients list, but the stock sauces come first in the instructions!
