For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- 1 - soak split peas overnight, drain and rinse
2 - place onions, carrots and tomatos into thermomix bowl "Closed lid"
3 - roughly chop 3 secs at sp 5
4 - place all ingredients (including chopped veg) into large saucepan
5 - cover with 6 cups cold water, simmer on low heat 2 hours (checking every 15mins to avoid sticking)

Very tasty and easy soup. I used the ham bone left over from Christmas ham and added some chopped up celery and a sprinkle of garlic powder to it. Made a lot of yummy soup! Thanks for the recipe.
