Lentil and chickpea soup

  • 1 onion, Quartered
  • 2 celery stalks, Cut into large pieces
  • 200 grams dried green or brown lentils, Washed
  • 200 gram Canned Chickpeas, Drained and rinsed
  • 200 grams canned chopped tomatoes, Can also use fresh
  • 30 grams olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, Peeled
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable stock paste
  • 2 pinches ground black pepper
  • 650 grams water

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place onion, garlic, celery and oil in mixing bowl and chop 5 seconds/ speed 7. Scrape down with spatula.

    2. sauté 3 minutes varoma MC off speed 1

    3. Add remainder of the ingredients to the TM bowl. Place simmering basket on lid instead of MC. Cook 40 minutes 100° Counter-clockwise operation speed1.

    season to your taste with salt and pepper if required. Serve with bread and butter.
