If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Place onion and garlic into "Closed lid" and chop (MC/5 secs/Sp. 5)
Saute the chopped onion and garlic with the butter (MC/2 min/V/Sp.2)
Place 200 gm diced mushroom, potatoes and chicken stock powder into "Closed lid" and saute (MC/2 min/V/Sp.2). Once it is done, (MC/10 secs/Sp. 10)
Add remaining diced mushroom and water into "Closed lid" (MC/20 min/V/Sp. 1)
Add cream, parsley and pepper (MC/10 secs/Sp. 5) . Serve hot.

This soup was very bland for our tastes. Mushroom flavour good, but I think the potato took all the saltiness. Needed a boost with porcini salt or a tablespoon of stock concentrate.

Really Yum!! I made a vegan version by using nuttlex for butter and tofutti sour cream instead of cream. Also added in some dried porcini when sautéing. Delicious

Husband's favourite, although
Husband's favourite, although he did think the garlic was a bit overpowering. Reduced to 1 glove on second attempt - was better as allowed the mushroom flavour to come through. (could be that garlic cloves are rather large at the moment)

Hi, yes I'm about to make this and I would be using varoma at these steps of the recipe. I've found when you sauté onions you get a better flavour if you use the varoma setting than at 100 degrees. Good luck!
