  • 1 --- brown onion, Peeled and quatered
  • 2 cloves garlic, Peeled
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 8 slices Shortcut Rindless Bacon
  • 1 can Coconut milk 400ml
  • 1 --- kumara, Peeled cut into 2" cubes
  • 1 carrot, Cut into pieces
  • 250 grams water
  • 2 tablespoons Chicken stock concentrate
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place leek, onion, garlic and bacon into bowl - turbo 1 second three times

  2. Add olive oil cook 5mins varoma speed 2

  3. Add rest of ingrediants - cook 20 mins 100deg

  4. Slowly increase speed to 6 pureeing until smooth (approx 40seconds)

  5. Add extra water to thin down to desired consistency if needed

    I really liked this.  I added a larger proportion of veg to make it thicker and missed out the bacon to make it vegetarian - it was delicious.

    This recipe looks really good, and I'd like to try it, but while it is called curried soup, it has no curry of any kind listed in the ingredients or instructions...help???
