American Brownies

Brownie mix

  • 200 grams vegatable oil
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla essense
  • 3 eggs
  • 60 grams cocoa powder
  • 100 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate soda
  • 100 grams chopped hazelnuts or walnuts, optional
  • Icing Sugar to Dust

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Pre heat oven to 180 degrees (165 degrees fan forced), prepare a 20 x 25cm (or 23cm square) baking tin.


    Place all ingredients into Closed lid mix Counter-clockwise operation 30 secs speed 3 until combined.


    Pour into prepared tray and bake for 25 - 30 minutes depending how chewy you like your brownie. (I take them out when the centre is just set, but not yet firm.


    Let the brownie cool in tin (unless you want to eat them warm), dust with icing sugar.
