Tip

Great cake to use for a kid's party as can be cut into many pieces or can use it to shape into a number or other design. Can also pour cake mix into two or three smaller cake tins and freeze cakes until you need them. Reduce cooking time slightly for more than one cake. Thanks to Anna for sharing her Aunt's recipe with me tmrc_emoticons.-)

This recipe looks great but could you please confirm the sugar and cocoa quantities? It seems like a massive amount of sugar and little cocoa?

  • I've been making this exact

    Submitted by CherylSherman on 9. November 2015 - 08:21.

I've been making this exact cake for about 10 years, it's been my go to cake for everything (I found the recipe in my old country women's cookbook) but I've been too scared to try it in my thermie as I imagined it to be too large!! Soooo excited that you've posted this, tried it & it works perfectly!!! Soooo much easier now, heaps quicker & a lot less mess!!! Turned out the same as always, a beautifully moist chocolate cake that everyone loves!! Thanks tmrc_emoticons.)
