Bec's Oat Slice Choc Brownie

  • 100 g oat flour
  • 150 g Butter, diced
  • 180 g rolled oats
  • 70 g coconut flakes, or desicated/shredded
  • 70 g sugar raw
  • 30 g cacao powder, raw, or cocoa
  • 2 tsp baking powder

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Prep oat flour
  1. Mill 100g rolled oats to flour 5sec sp10, if required.
  2. Oat Slice Mixture
  3. Add butter to mixing bowl. Melt butter at 2min 60C sp2.
  4. To melted butter, add oat flour, rolled oats, coconut, sugar, cacao and baking powder. Mix 20sec sp4.
  5. Add chocolate chips and egg. Combine Counter-clockwise operation for 20sec speed 3. Add extra time if not fully combined.
  6. Press into Silicone Snack Bar Moulds. Bake 170C for 22minutes.

Tip

Don't have snack bar moulds? Press into baking tray and slice after baking. They are a little crumbly so I recommend the moulds.

    This recipe is great! It's easy, and tastes like the Carmen's bar. I didn't have the snack bar moulds so pressed the mixture very firmly into a slice tray, popped it into the freezer to firm up, gently turned it out onto a cutting board then sliced into bars BEFORE baking.
